The 156th Hospices de Beaune auction (SALE 13577) features 597 lots, with a presale estimate of EUR 6,222,500 – EUR 9,050,000.  Jasper Morris MW, who leads the sale for Christie’s, notes that ” [While] The first half of the growing season was the most difficult in living memory, the second half as close to perfect as anybody could have hope for.”  Reports from Burgundy have been consistently upbeat in recent weeks, and we trust that new winemaker Ludivine Griveau has made the best of her raw materials.  This is one of the top events of the Burgundian calendar.
